Second Harvest, Casey House, The Alzheimer Society of Toronto and CHUMCity Christmas Wish will each benefit from one of four uplifting evenings of Seasonal music when JACKIE RICHARDSON, MICHEL BÉRUBÉ and the 13-member FAITH CHORALE perform in “THIS CHRISTMAS”, December 5, 6, 7 and 8, at the DIESEL PLAYHOUSE.

Popular star of song, stage and television, Jackie Richardson is well known to Toronto audiences and a much beloved entertainer. She has just completed the successful Vancouver run of "Cookin' at the Cookery" and the taping the Doodlebops third season for CBC TV. Last Christmas, she and daughter, Kim Richardson released popular French and English versions of "(Let's Make) Christmas Each Day of the Year"/"Souhaits Des Fêtes", which also garnered radio airplay at stations across the entire country

Like many other successful Canadian artists, it took the “fast-rising" Sharon Riley & Faith Chorale a decade to establish themselves as the country's premier gospel choir. Riley's rehabilitation from a serious car accident mirrors the group's progression from initial days with her in a wheelchair until the present where she exuberantly sashays across the stage aided by a cane. Canada's first gospel group to sign an international recording contract, Faith Chorale appeared in the film The Blues Brothers 2000 and with Paul Schaffer, co-arranged and sang on the Grammy Award-nominated soundtrack.

Canadian singing sensation Michel Bérubé first appeared on the scene in December, 2004 when his independently released single “O Holy Night” was added to radio stations across Canada and DJ’s and fans raved. Encouraged by the response, Michel defied convention and, setting aside work on what was to be his debut CD (which includes a duet with pop icon Chrissie Hynde), he recorded an album of his favourite Christmas songs. In keeping with his ability to connect with established stars who, loving his voice, are eager to sing with him, Michel was honoured when another iconic singer, Jennifer Warnes, agreed to join him on a duet of “The Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth”, which became the centerpiece of his album. With lush orchestrations and pop and jazz infused arrangements of seasonal favourites and inspirational carols in both English and French, THIS CHRISTMAS, released in December, 2005, (www.cdcanada.ca), generated an overwhelmingly positive response from both fans and DJ’s alike. Within days of its release five tracks from the album were playing on radio stations across Canada, in Europe, Australia and The United States.

With more than a couple of Seasonal soon-to-be-standards already established among them, the combination of Bérubé, Richardson and Sharon Riley & The Faith Chorale will make a particularly rousing, intimate and moving Christmas musical experience.
